Public Relations
Over the years, I've handled a wide variety of crisis, marketing, employee, and financial communications. I've written and produced written material and videos on a great many subjects, including economic development in New York City and consumer products and services. Through snappy press releases, clever marketing, and close ties with many of our country's leading journalists, I've generated significant media coverage for the organizations i represented.
One of my great strengths: Recognizing what's unique, important, and truly newsworthy about the products or issues personalities I'm promoting. Organizational insiders often have inflated sense of their own self-importance, and don't always know how to identify and promote what's best about them. An outsider can know what's best for you -- or at least what the world will want or needs to know about you.
Public relations is advertising you don't pay for. If you do it well enough, you can sell just about anything, or maybe even get yourself elected President.
But even if you're simply trying to promote a product or service, a cause or a candidate, even if you're operating with a small budget, an outsider's perspective can ensure that you're communicating as effectively as possible.
As both a strategist and a spokesman, I try to keep a low profile and do my best to keep the public focus on my clients. During my career, I've managed to get hundreds of placements in media outlets around the country, and even a few around the world. But here's a sampling of articles that actually quote me from the New York Daily News.

Crisis Communications
Over the years, I've developed and implemented communication strategies for potential and real crisis situations. Some of the better known issues included Y2K and 9/11, but my work has included handling a wide variety of sensitive political issues as well as life-threatening situations. I've developed communication plans for a number of organizations that dealt with the health and safety of employees and the general public.
In 2001, I handled community and media relations for the implosion of the obsolete gas holders in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We worked with NYC's Office of Emergency Management, various public safety agencies, community organizations, and elected official to ensure a safe and exciting event that captured the imagination of the American public. Our communication efforts were honored by the Public Relations Society of America.
Writing
After a short stint writing television commercials, I truly began my professional career as a technical writer before moving on to feature articles and speeches for business leaders. Since that time, I've written on an eclectic range of subjects in a variety of styles for all types of media: print, video, and electronic. Though I've worked in every aspect of professional communications, I still consider myself first and foremost a writer.
I've been doing a lot of political writing lately, and provide editorial services for a number of political and professional organizations. Most of my recent work has been through Skyline Media Group. Check it out to see what we can do for you.
At some point, I'll post clips from some of the videos I've written and produced. The subject matter ranges from The Geology of Staten Island, Economic Development in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, Marketing of Energy Products and Services, and Health and Human Services.
